Birchbox Time Already!?

Can someone please explain to me how we’re in MARCH already and it’s time for me to write another Birchbox post? Like, surely it’s only about 2 weeks since the last one? This year is going crazily fast. Slow down 2k16 I ain’t ready.

So far for each Birchbox post I feel as though I keep banging on about how good each box is. But seriously, does anyone else agree that they’ve upped their game from last year? I mean, I liked it as a whole last year obviously, or else I wouldn’t continue getting them. But this year they all keep impressing me. Keep it up, Birchbox!

But let’s get down to it, here’s what I got:

ModelCo More Brows:

When I opened the box I was SUPER excited to see this. Not that I’d heard of the product or brand before, but I’ve been considering buying the Wunderbrow stuff I keep seeing all over social media and this looked kinda similar. I got it in medium/dark which I think is slightly too dark for me. But I still really like it! I’m still perfecting my technique, and the colour isn’t that off that I wont use it. I genuinely think I’m going to buy this, just probably in a medium shade if they do it. It looks really natural, and I still use my Kiko Eyebrow Marker first, then just finish off with this.

Arrow Boost Colour Enhancing Lip Balm:

Well wasn’t this a nice surprise! I thought it was gonna be a normal lip balm with just a hint of pink. But the colour is actually a really strong, well lasting colour! And it’s really good at moisturising your lips. All round winner. Oh, and it’s a full size item which it just ❤

Philip B Straightening Baume:

I’ve only tested this once, on the only day I actually fully blow dried and straightened my hair (coz nobody got time for that everyday). But I did notice a difference. My hair just looked a bit glossier and sleeker. Not its usual frizzy, wavy self. So pretty good if you ask me. I just wish it smelled really lush, as it doesn’t seem to smell of much?

The Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray:

I have used this every night since I got it and I love it! I’m a really rubbish, light sleeper, and it has actually made me have some really good nights sleeps. One night it still did take me a little while to drift off, but once I’m asleep I’m actually out instead of waking up like 5 times in one night.

Whish Shave Cream:

As with most Whish products, this smells amazing! Its coconut flavour. It’s not a foam so it does leave your skin feeling soft and smooth instead of drying it out slightly. It’s a bit like you’re shaving with moisturiser, but that’s why it makes your skin feel so good.

Indeed Moisture Boosting Mask:

I haven’t tried this yet but I’m saving it for a special occasion. Might use it before my weekend in London when I go and see The Woman in Black with Pete. It seems like it will be really effective and fancy.

9 Steps to the Ultimate Sunday Shower

Sundays. Pretty much a day for waking up late, getting jobs done and most importantly, pampering. It’s a perfect way to make yourself slightly more prepared for Monday as you’ll feel scrubbed, silky and smoooooth, and completely like ‘Girl you got this, you’re totally ready for a new week’.

I’ve put together a list of all my current faves for my Sunday Shower. I genuinely try to have one of these every week but sometimes it is impossible if you’ve got to like, actually leave the house for a whole day. Terrible, I know. But if that’s the case I tend to do a mini version. You do need to allow like a good 45 minutes for everything so make sure there’s no queue for the bathroom first.

  1. John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Moisturising Shampoo & Conditioner

This is 100% the best shampoo for my hair at the moment. I do like to swap and change a bit but right now this is giving me the best results. My hair is softer and more manageable but without getting greasy quickly, and now my hair is darker it helps retain the colour. I use the shampoo twice, then layer on a fairly large amount of the conditioner which I leave on for a couple of minutes before rinsing.

2. Arbonne Seasourse Detox Spa Fortifying Hair Mask

Admittedly, I haven’t used this one in a little while as mine ran out, and have tried a few others. But this is the best of the best and I WILL be buying a new one. It literally makes your hair feel like silk and it doesn’t have any bad ingredients in it so it’s actually good for your hair. You can either use it after you’ve conditioned if your hair is really dry, or you can use it on it’s own. Just leave it on for a several minutes depending how dry your hair is.

3. No7 Beautiful Skin Pore Purifier

Now this is great. I’ve started using this every day when I wash my face and my skin has really improved. Its not harsh so you can get away with using it every day but I just use it quickly. Then once a week do a really good scrub with it, usually whilst my hair mask is on. It has a head on it which you circulate over your damp face with some of the gel on. Then rinse. Simple 🙂

4. Laura Mercier Face Polish

Now you can’t use this if you’ve used the above because hello, overly exfoliated bright red skin! So you need to choose wisely between the two. This is a lot more intense scrub than the above so really feels like its doing the job. I usually use it once every 2 weeks as I’m using the No7 Skin Purifier too. But sometimes this is 100% needed. I think it’s one of the best scrubs I’ve used and it smells lush 🙂

5. Rituals Fortune Scrub

I was lucky enough to get a full size one of these in a Birchbox a little while ago, and I really really love it. It’s very concentrated so you don’t need very much which means it last for aaaages. And it makes your skin really smooth like a babies bum! I use it after I’ve shaved my legs.

6. Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Scrub

This was my go-to scrub before I received the last little beaut. Doesn’t it just smell AMAZE? And it works. Once I run out of my rituals I’ll probably buy both and alternate between the two.

7. Body Shop Body Butter

Once you’re out of the shower, it’s time to moisturise! For Christmas I got a pack of three festive scented Body Shop body butters. Right now I’m using the orange and ginger flavour which is lush. The other two are spiced cranberry, and vanilla. They make your skin so soft and smell like you can actually eat them, which I obvs wouldn’t recommend.

8. Soap and Glory Heel Genius

Put this bad boy on your feel and they’ll feel super smooth, no matter how dry they were before. They’ll also make your feet smell fresh as a daisy 🙂

9. Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle

Finish off everything with a couple of squirts on a leave in conditioner on damp hair and you’re good to go! I got this one in my most recent Birchbox and I’ll defo be buying it. It smells amazing and makes my hair so much easier to comb. Plus the added heat perfection is just perf.

Happy Sunday Pampering!
